The Artist
Maya Williams is an illustrator and comic artist based in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in digital arts and multimedia design from La Salle University. She currently self publishes a webcomic, Taking Chances!, to WEBTOON Canvas. Some of Maya’s favorite subjects include floral aesthetics, girls at peace, and vibrant fashion.
Maya created the webcomic, Taking Chances!, as her senior capstone and has since gained over 60,000 followers. Her webcomic works with issues of gender equality, racial diversity, and sexual orientation.
Some of Maya’s favorite activities are listening to music, perfecting her coffee brewing skills, and outdoor sketching.
